New Store Samples: Hawthorne, Shaelyn January 11, 2012 – Posted in: Store Samples
As promised in last week’s blog post about this shawl, below are photos of the finished Hawthorne. Susanna IC’s pattern was a pleasure to knit from beginning to end and turned out to be a surprisingly quick project. The SweetGeorgia Superwash Worsted yarn lends a great weight and drape to the shawl and, if possible, the ‘pumpkin’ colourway is even more beautiful knit up than in the skein. Three skeins were used for this project.
Lisa also recently cast off a gorgeous shawl; the Shaelyn by Leila Raabe is knit up here using three balls of Cashmere Queen from Schoppel-Wolle. This luxurious blend of merino, cashmere, and silk is available in a range of soft and neutral colours along with a few brights (red!, orange!) and feels like a dream once it blooms after blocking. The pattern can be knit in a wide variety of yarn weights and is easily customized to any size.
As mentioned in yesterday’s post, both these shawls are options in our January Knit-Along beginning on the 19th. Which one will you do?
