New Yarns from SweetGeorgia! January 26, 2012 – Posted in: New in Store, Project Ideas

It’s no secret that we are huge fans of SweetGeorgia Yarns (SGY) and this week we’re happy to announce the arrival of 20 gorgeous shades of Superwash Chunky and 14 additional shades of Merino Silk Lace.

Merino Silk Lace

“Silky, shiny, springy and glossy” is how Felicia Lo of SGY describes this fine merino and silk 2-ply laceweight yarn and we couldn’t agree more. The hand-dyed colours are intense and super-saturated and the silky sheen is stunning. We are thrilled with this newest addition to our selection of lace yarns and have quickly queued up a crazy list of must-knit projects… (765 yards per 100g skein).

Projects that may just have been added to our queue include: Spring LeavesMuji Painting, and Adrift

Superwash Chunky

Superwash Chunky is 100% soft merino which is “plied for better wear and washable for easy-care”. It can be knit up on 5.5mm – 8.0mm needles making it a great choice for quick accessories and heavier garments. Hand-dyed in SweetGeorgia’s trademark colourways, this yarn is pure eye-candy and makes for brilliant immediate gratification knitting. Needless to say, we have big plans for this as well… (120 yards per 100g skein).

A few great patterns for this yarn are: State Street Cowl, Dottie, and Juliet.
