Noro Striped Scarf by Jared Flood
The Noro Striped Scarf by Jared Flood is a perennial favourite on Ravelry with well over 10,000 posted projects. We knit ours with two colours of Kudo. Kudo is a gorgeous blend of cotton (55%), rayon (40%), and silk (5%) making it an especially great option for those with wool sensitivities / allergies (yarn previously blogged here). The pattern is a simple 1 x 1 rib but the alternate striping of the two colours every two rows makes for a beautiful interplay of the graduated colourways.
State Street Cowl by Pam Allen
As soon as our order of SweetGeorgia Superwash Chunky came in we cast on Pam Allen’s State Street Cowl and are thrilled with the results. The yarn is squishy and soft and the colour options are spectacular. Cozy and warm, this piece can be worn down over the shoulders as a capelet indoors or as a traditional cowl perfect for braving the elements outside.
Ruffle Lace Cowl by Cathy Carron
The Ruffle Lace Cowl is designed with Blue Sky Alpacas Dyed Cotton yarn but we opted to knit this up in Lustra – a beautiful single-ply yarn from Berroco with a lovely sheen.
The Elizabethan vibe adds drama but can be dressed both up and down. This cowl looks great under a coat or as an accessory worn over a sweater indoors.
So simple but so effective!

Kudo yarn seems like a really good alternative to Noro! I like that! The State Street Cowl is also gorgeous! Great suggestions! I love the suggestions you post!
