Little Sister’s Dress, Hedgerow Socks
A new shipment of SweetGerogia’s CashLuxe Fine arrived yesterday so I thought today I’d post a couple of patterns which are perfectly suited to it. CashLuxe Fine is 70% superwash merino wool, 20% cashmere, and 10% nylon. Felicia describes it as “pure sock knitting luxury” but this soft squishy yarn can be used for any project requiring fingering weight yarn and is ideal for anything that will be worn next to the skin – one-skein shawls, cowls, baby gifts or socks.
We knit up the Little Sister’s Dress by Tora Frøseth Design as a store sample in the Orchid colourway and it’s lovely. Knit from the top-down, this dress is completely seamless making it a quick and easy project. And, as baby / toddler grows, it becomes a great tunic over jeans or leggings significantly extending it’s longevity and wearability. A definite plus when it comes to knitting for little ones!
The Hedgerow Socks by Jane Cochran are simple, beautiful textured socks which, as the designer notes, “work well with any hand-dyed yarn that has a subtle color scheme that?s either semisolid or only discretely contrasting”. We have many such colourways in the CashLuxe Fine and, if I can find the time, I may just need to cast these on in Lettuce Wrap…
