New Store Samples – Color Affection, Easy Folded Poncho March 20, 2012 – Posted in: Project Ideas, Store Samples
Color Affection
Color Affection by Veera Välimäki is a gorgeous striped garter stitch wrap/shawl which is quick and completely fun to knit. This is addictive knitting at it’s best and, if you’re like me, you may find yourself wanting to cast on a second as soon as you finish! Our sample is knit with SweetGeorgia’s CashLuxe Fine – a fingering weight blend of cashmere, merino, and a teeny bit of nylon. Lots of colours in stock – selecting your own personal combination is at least half the fun.
Easy Folded Poncho
As previously blogged, the Easy Folded Poncho by Churchmouse Yarns & Teas is a classic yet casual transitional piece perfect for layering. This is a simple rectangle folded in half and partially seamed – the basic construction makes it a great option for those wanting a “mindless” project in between more challenging ones. And, while it may be simple, this poncho is a stunner. Our sample is knit with Rowan’s Felted Tweed DK – a blend of merino, alpaca, and viscose (machine washable!). Most colours in stock.

Wow Melissa, you finished your Color Affection already?! You’re fast! It’s beautiful. Mine is progressing well given the extra unexpected knitting time I have this week (I work for Aveos…), but still, I haven’t started the stripes yet. I’m almost done with the first section.

Thanks Lauraline! I couldn’t stop knitting – it was so fun. There were a few late nights on the weekend… 😉
