New Store Sample: Picot-Edge Baby Blanket April 4, 2012 – Posted in: Project Ideas, Store Samples

Sometimes the simplest things can be the most lovely and rewarding to knit. The Picot-Edge Baby Blanket by Churchmouse Yarns certainly falls within this category.  This pattern has been a huge customer favourite and we’ve seen it knit in a wide range of yarn qualities and weights.  We decided to work up a store sample in Yellow Label DK from Tanis Fiber Arts – a soft and springy hand-dyed superwash merino with beautiful stitch definition and drape. The blanket is worked diagonally in garter stitch from one corner, increased to a triangle midway, then decreased to the opposite corner. Because it can be knit to any size, the pattern can be used for everything from washcloths to full size afghans. Information is provided for DK, worsted, and bulky weight yarns and directions are given for both the picot as well as a plain edge. The colourway used here is “Sweetheart” pink. A great gift idea!
