Free Pattern Friday: Holden Shawlette June 15, 2012 – Posted in: Free Pattern Fridays, Project Ideas

The Holden Shawlette, by Mindy Wilkes, is our pick for this week’s free pattern highlight. This lovely project is at once simple and elegant and is a perfect choice for first time and experienced lace knitters alike. The pattern includes both written and charted instructions and Mindy has done a great job of providing clear pattern notes to minimize any possible confusion. I’ve just cast this on in Handmaiden’s Sea Silk in Saltspray, an exquisite silvery-blue, and I am enthralled – both by the yarn itself (I always love knitting with Sea Silk) and the depth and sheen of the colour. Knitting bliss.

Queued! I’m looking around for shawlette patterns for a yarn I’m spinning, and this would really show the colors off! I just need to get enough yardage…

I used this pattern several times for presents last Xmas.it’s so effective but easy. Also made a much larger version for myself, by adding a few repeats. Thanks for the pattern! 🙂

Hello Vicki,
This used to be a free pattern – it was when we posted about it. The designer has decided to sell it on ravelry instead, so if you want to knit it, you would have to buy a copy.
Best,
