Color Affection by Veera Välimäki is a striped, top-down, garter stitch wrap/shawl written for two yarn weights (fingering and lace). This design has been burning up Ravelry since last December (over 6000 finished projects have been posted already!) and it’s no secret why – it has a many of the ingredients knitters love;  not only is it incredibly fun to plan and knit but the stripes keep the motivation level up all the way through which means you will probably find yourself finishing this much faster than you expect!

For the lace weight version you’ll need approximately 1200 yards [1100 meters] of yarn – 400 yards [366 meters] in each of 3 colours.
For the fingering weight version you’ll need approximately 1155 yards [1055 meters] – 385 yards [352 meters] in each of 3 colours.

The Knit-Along begins October 1st. To join, click here to visit the October KAL thread in the Espace Tricot Ravelry Group and introduce yourself.

You can jump into the Knit-Along any time in October but, if you post a picture of your finished Color Affection to the thread by October 31st, we?ll enter your name into a draw for a $25 Espace Tricot Gift Card! You can also submit your finished project by sending us a photo via e-mail or stopping by the store!

Our store sample is knit with CashLuxe Fine from SweetGeorgia Yarns, a fingering weight blend of 70% superwash merino, 20% cashmere,  and 10% nylon. The cashmere in this yarn gives it an incredibly soft hand producing a warm and bouncy luxury fabric perfect for wearing next to the skin. CashLuxe Fine is our October Yarn of the Month and will be 10% off from now through October 31st. If you’re interested in purchasing this yarn but don?t live in Montreal, give us a ring (514 486-5648) or drop us an e-mail – we?d be happy to ship it to you.

We currently have 44 colours of CashLuxe Fine in stock which makes for an endless number of possible combinations. We’ve put together a few of our personal faves below to help get the creative juices flowing – this part is at least half the fun! Be sure to visit the SweetGeorgia Yarns website to view additional colourways.
