New in store: Firefly from Classic Elite Yarns March 12, 2013 – Posted in: New in Store, Project Ideas
Can you feel it yet? Spring is coming.
Although many of our customers are inclined to pick up their needles and hooks in the Fall and put them away again come April or May, Lisa and I have never been “seasonal” knitters. We knit all the time (All.The.Time.) – adapting our projects and yarn choices to the rising and falling temperatures throughout the year. Knitting provides us continuous comfort – it steadies our nerves, feeds our senses, and allows us such a creative (and productive!) outlet – we couldn’t imagine going cold turkey just because of a bit of warm weather. We love this time of year – planning the projects we’ll knit with linens and cottons and hemp and myriad blends of these fibers.
Over the last few weeks we’ve been transitioning the store for the spring / summer season – shifting the super bulky yarns to higher shelves and stocking up on gorgeous lighter weight fare. Over the next month or so, I’ll be taking some time to highlight many of them here.
First up, Firefly from Classic Elite Yarns!
From the Classic Elite website: “Firefly is a warm-weather yarn with a subtle sheen and wonderful hand. The juxtaposition of the linen with a light-catching sheen gives it a distinctly feminine look. Firefly drapes wonderfully at a wide range of gauges – knit loosely for elegant lace or more tightly for stockinette fabrics.”
