The Art of Complaining Effectively with Amy Fish
A reading by the author – Thursday, April 4th, 2013
As knitters, we love to sit around and chat about our lives. Sometimes, we have to admit, this chit chat turns to complaining. Complaining that, more often than not, goes nowhere. What if, while we were knitting, we could learn how to complain well? Actually get a few pointers on how to – well, on how to bitch.
Please join us on Thursday, April 4th when Amy Fish, an expert on complaining, will read to us from her new book “The Art of Complaining Effectively”.
“The Art of Complaining Effectively” is a book about standing up for yourself calmly, concisely and with the best possible results. You will meet a Sandwich Artist, a Hair Colorist and a few texting lifeguards. You will visit a skeevy hotel room, a cockroach infested restaurant, and a sweaty high school.
Author Amy Fish spent close to five years as an Ombudsman in the Canadian health care system. “I heard so many complaints, I began to recognize what makes a complaint truly effective”, says Amy. “Complaining is more of an art than a science.”
Bring your knitting to our regular Knit Night (6:00pm – 9:00pm) and while you stitch, you will learn to bitch. Amy will begin reading at 7:00 pm.

We look forward to seeing many of you on the 4th!
