New store sample: Groovy Shibui March 10, 2014 – Posted in: Project Ideas, Store Samples
Some of you may remember me blogging about this work-in-progress back in December. After many distractions along the way, I finally finished this exquisite version of the Groovy – a design by JumperCablesKnitting – last week and, for the life of me, I can’t figure out why it took so long. It was a thoroughly enjoyable knit and was actually fairly quick in the end. As expected, the Shibui Silk Cloud and Shibui Pebble were a dream pairing and the finished texture is light, warm, and soft with a delicate halo. The addition of the contrast stripe at the end adds a modern edge to an otherwise “quiet” shawl and the shape of the piece allows it to work as a wrap or scarf. A great transition piece for spring!

How many skeins of Shibui Pebble and Silk Cloud of each color did you use for this project?

Hello Pamela,
Yes, Lisa knit the Groovy in Jade Sapphire cashmere, you can find all the info here: http://www.ravelry.com/projects/EspaceTricot/groovy
It is a paid for pattern and Lisa used three skeins of the 6-ply Mongolian Cashmere, which comes to 450 yards.
Best,
Mona
