Free pattern Friday: Wellengang Short Row Scarf August 15, 2014 – Posted in: Free Pattern Fridays, Project Ideas
An elegant scarf with gorgeous texture knit with just one skein of fingering weight yarn! The Wellengang by Sybil R. just popped up on Ravelry and I’ve been drawn to it despite not being a fan of the look of dropped/elongated stitches. In this simple 8-row repeat pattern, however, garter stitch, short rows, and elongated stitches combine to create interest in a unique and sophisticated way. There are so many beautiful options for this accessory – here are just a few ideas: Madelinetosh Tosh Merino Light or Pashmina, Tanis Fiber Arts Cosmic Blue Label, Purple Label, or Red Label, SweetGeorgia Yarns CashLuxe Fine, Merino Silk Fine, Tough Love Sock, or Shibui Staccato. A great transitional scarf to take you from cool summer evenings into Fall.
