Announcing the Rowan Pure Wool Worsted Mystery Knit-Along designed by Kaffe Fassett! September 9, 2014 – Posted in: Coming soon, Project Ideas
In follow-up to their extremely successful Martin Storey Knit-Along this past spring, Rowan has teamed with master designer Kaffe Fassett to create a new Knit- Along featuring their Pure Wool Worsted superwash yarn. The project will be for a full-sized afghan, however, this time, Rowan is also offering quicker project options for small and oblong cushions. Kaffe has developed four color combinations (brown, pastel, red, and turquoise) but the sky is the limit in terms of personal creativity! Each project will consist of several squares using Kaffe’s signature striping techniques. In addition, Rowan designer Sarah Hatton will also contribute technique videos which will run over the life of the KAL.
The first square pattern will be released week commencing 1st October 2014.
At each stage, instructions for one of the squares that Kaffe has designed will be released. A completed Afghan requires each square to be knitted six times, giving a total of 48 squares. In week nine, Rowan will provide the two final sets of instructions needed for making-up the beautiful blanket.
The patterns will be released by stage at Knitrowan.com.
You?ll be able to ask for help and advice, share your comments, and photos via the Rowan Yarns Forum, on a dedicated Ravelry pattern page, and also on the Rowan Yarns Facebook page.
Patterns will be available in English, French, German and Dutch.
