Stephen & Steven Tour: Wrap-up February 23, 2015 – Posted in: Events
Stephen and Steven and the Espace Tricot team just before opening our doors for the first trunk show (L-R: Stephanie, Samantha, Giovanna (front), Stephen West, Lisa, Steven Berg, myself (Melissa), and Mona).
While in the final stages of launching our online store last week, blog posting (well, everything, really) necessarily took a back-seat. Things have slowed down somewhat (just a moderately frantic pace now) and I’ve managed to go through our photos and select a few to give you a sense of our whirlwind weekend with Stephen West and Steven Berg. What a treat these guys were. As nice as they are talented and flamboyant, the Steph(v)ens delivered on their promise to inspire and motivate our knitters. Feedback on their trunk shows and classes was overwhelmingly positive and the message we heard again and again was that these events encouraged many to want to relax with their knitting and take new opportunities to express their own personal creativity. We saw renewed interest in experimentation – playing with colour, needle sizes, and gauges – and in embracing new ideas and approaches. So many went home and looked at their stashes with new eyes and new ideas and told us that their heads were spinning with possibilities. And they were not alone. We, too, are feeling re-energized and are already thinking of ways to change up our current projects to create our own unique interpretations of existing patterns – we call it the “Stephen and Steven effect”.
Huge thanks to the Steph(v)ens and to our wonderful customers who participated with interest, enthusiasm, and open minds. We had a ball!
