Free pattern Friday: Nick Cowl September 4, 2015 – Posted in: Free Pattern Fridays, Project Ideas
“A sleek and sporty unisex cowl, which can be easily personalized. Keep it minimalist, or add pom-poms, tassels, a toggle or beads for some fun!”
The Nick cowl by Heidi Kirrmaier uses just 400 yards / 366 m of DK weight yarn to create a simple, stylish, cold-weather accessory. The designer notes that you can make a twisted cord, a crochet chain, or an i-cord in a matching or contrasting yarn for your tie. You could even re-purpose a drawstring from an old pair of sweatpants or hoodie! Instructions to adjust the size are noted in the pattern.
We think this would be great in Manos del Uruguay’s Silk Blend, Tanis Fiber Arts Yellow Label DK, or Blue Sky Alpacas Suri Merino!
