Free pattern Friday: Scottish Ale September 18, 2015 – Posted in: Free Pattern Fridays, Project Ideas

I don’t often post patterns for men, although I really should considering that we knitters often knit for our loved ones and many of those happen to be of the male persuasion. And, there are many men who knit! Scottish Ale by Cheryl Beckerich is an extremely handsome cabled sweater that is sure to be treasured for many years by its wearer (just look how happy that guy is!). Knit in four pieces and then seamed, this Aran sweater is traditional in both style and structure. Though cabling itself is not difficult, the multiple patterns running on different rows in this design make it an intermediate level undertaking. That said, the pattern is clear and well-written and the beautiful finished sweater will make it more than worth facing your fears 🙂

This sweater is knit with Cascade Eco Wool. Click below to browse /purchase this yarn in our online store…
