SPECIAL EVENTS

COSY POSY YARN CO. POPUP Saturday, February 15th

Cosy Posy has emerged as a rising star on the Canadian indie dyeing scene.  After quietly dyeing yarn for a few years, Antonella officially launched Cosy Posy Yarn Co. in August 2019.  As a “one woman show” (with help from her husband), she takes care of everything from dyeing to packaging, labelling, answering emails, shipping, and photography.

“I layer a lot of my colours… saturate them,” Antonella says. “My process may be longer than most dyers as some colourways can take a couple of days to complete.” The results of this dedicated process can be seen in her beautiful palette – inspired by music, lyrics, nature, crystals and gemstones. From bold variegated and speckled jewel tones, to dreamy ethereal pastels (and some of the best fall colours we’ve ever laid eyes on), Antonella has crafted an impressive collection that is quickly capturing the attention of knitters around the world.

Join us February 15th when we’ll have a huge selection of unique and vibrant CosyPosy colourways in the shop on Fancy (merino + cashmere + nylon), Floof (mohair + silk), and Fluff (baby suri alpaca + silk).

URSO YARN CO. POPUP + COLOURWORK CLASS Saturday, February 29th

Join us in welcoming Paule of Urso Yarn Company for a pop-up shop of beautifully subtle yarns. Paule sources many of her unique bases from Canadian companies, with a focus on sustainability. Coming from an illustration background, Paule fell instantly in love with dyeing – a logical progression from knitting, which has always been her hobby. The result – Urso Yarn Co. – reflects her deep knowledge and love for colour and form which is so evident in her artwork.

Paule T.B. has studied animation, and fashion illustration in New York. She now works from home for fashion and youth publications. Her illustrations have graced textbooks, fabrics, children’s books, magazines, and fashion and decor blogs, among other publications. As knitting has always been her hobby (read: obsession), it was simply a logical step towards yarn dyeing. Paule now shares her professional time between dyeing and illustration. She loves to join the two disciplines, and to have fun playing with all the colours!

Design a Colourwork Yoke with Paule T.B of Urso Yarn Co.
Saturday, February 29th, 9 am – 12 pm – in l’Atelier, $75

Learn how to modify an existing colourwork chart (for personal use only). We will start from an existing pattern in your desired style and weight of yarn. You can then integrate your own illustrations and designs into the yoke of the sweater. This workshop will help you understand how to design your own colourwork yokes.
